Interesting Fact:
Since the 1950's the phrase "the Heart of Dixie" has been on state automobile license plates.  In 2002 the phrase "Stars Fell on Alabama" began to appear in reference to a meteor shower on November 12, 1833.  The event became known as "the night the stars fell on Alabama."  For many years it was used as a marker to date events in people's lives.  It even inspired a song and a book, a century later.  The song was recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1953 and re-recorded by Jimmy Buffett in 1981.  A group known as the Parrotheads meet each year in Mobile to celebrate the event and raise money for charities
