Recently, many carriers (such as Allstate and State Farm) have stopped writing insurance policies (homeowners insurance) for homeowners on the island (including the cities of Ventnor, Margate, Longport and Atlantic City) because the risk was too high. They even dropped long-standing clients who have been buying insurance from them for many years. Because of this, I have put together a list of insurance companies whom homeowners can contact to obtain insurance policies on the island as well as information on flood protection from FEMA and other sources.
